Pashinyan sends Anna Hakobyan to the US as first lady

Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan signed a decree on sending Anna Hakobyan to the US as first lady.

Hakobyan will be in the US from June 26 to July 4 to participate in the annual event of the World Academy of First Ladies in New York.

Recall that on February 27 of this year Hakobyan announced her separation from Pashinyan. She said that she was leaving the government dacha and moving to a rented apartment. At the same time, she stated her intention to remain as executive director of the My Step foundation.

In turn, Pashinyan said that he respects her decision. He stressed that for many years Hakobyan had been by his side during the most difficult periods, and expressed regret, admitting that he could have caused her grief.

However, already on April 19, Pashinyan posted a video from the government mansion, in the background Anna Hakobyan could be seen. Later they appeared together at a motor rally in Gyumri.

The prime minister said that after his wife publicly announced the separation at the end of February, he responded that he respects her decision. But respecting this decision, according to him, does not mean accepting it.

Then Pashinyan said that he made efforts to preserve the family.
