EC promises Yerevan €38 million and opening of EU market for 80% of Armenian goods
The European Commission promised Armenia €38 million in aid and the opening of the European market for 80% of Armenian goods.
This was announced by EC head Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference in Yerevan, TASS reports.
"We will provide €18 million to support Armenia's exports," von der Leyen said. Another €20 million will be directed to support communities living in border areas.
Von der Leyen also stated that the EC sees economic pressure from Russia, which the EU always fights when it is directed at partners who have chosen the European Union.
She also promised to open the EU market for 80% of Armenian exports, noting that the first flowers from Armenia have already arrived in the EU.
