MES: one person killed, three injured in explosion in residential building in Yasamal

Information about an explosion in a residential building located on Umid Alekperov Street in the Yasamal district of Baku was received on the hotline "112" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

As reported to 1news.az by the ministry, in connection with the received information, forces of the State Fire Protection Service and the Special Risk Rescue Service of the MES were immediately deployed to the scene.

During a preliminary assessment of the operational situation at the scene, it was established that an explosion accompanied by a fire occurred on the first floor of a two-story residential building. Thanks to the prompt intervention of firefighters, the fire was extinguished in a short time, preventing it from spreading.

As a result of the fire, flammable structures in two rooms on the first floor of the house with a total area of 250 square meters, belonging to different citizens, burned down over an area of 50 square meters.

As a result of the incident, three people received bodily injuries of varying degrees of severity; rescuers recovered the body of a citizen born in 2010 and handed it over to the appropriate authorities.
An investigation is being conducted by the relevant agencies into the incident.
