Azerbaijan's agriculture ministry comments on locust invasion
The Agrarian Services Agency keeps the situation with the locust invasion on the Absheron Peninsula under full control.
This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, which oversees the agency.
It is noted that employees of the Plant Protection and Fumigation Center went to the sites to conduct monitoring after citizens appealed regarding the locust invasion on the Absheron Peninsula, particularly in coastal areas.
"Such natural phenomena are directly related to sharp climate changes. As global and regional climatic conditions change, many organisms, including locusts, migrate to new geographic areas. Intensive chemical treatment is currently underway in areas of mass locust spread. The process is under full control," the Ministry of Agriculture stated.
