At the OSCE PA session they reported on the activities of the Council for Digital Development of Azerbaijan
At the 33rd annual session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in The Hague, the activities of the Council for Digital Development of Azerbaijan were reported.
The session discusses issues related to the supremacy of international law, peace, and cooperation.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by a delegation of the Milli Majlis (parliament) headed by deputy Gaya Mamedov.
In his speech, he named double standards and a selective approach among the main reasons for the unsatisfactory situation in the field of compliance with the norms and principles of international law. The head of the Azerbaijani delegation noted the need to protect and respect the principles of sovereignty and sovereign equality of states as the highest values.
G. Mamedov drew attention to the need to apply international law in the digital space and protect the digital sovereignty of states in this area during the expansion of the use of information technologies, including the rapid development of artificial intelligence. The head of the Azerbaijani delegation spoke about progressive policy and activities in the country based on an optimal balance between security, development, and human rights in the field of using new technologies.
The head of the delegation, as advanced experience in the OSCE space, informed about the activities of the Council for Digital Development in Azerbaijan, operating under the leadership of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and including a detailed concept and an interdepartmental approach in the digital sphere, and also noted the importance of international cooperation in this area.
