Who in Azerbaijan has the right to early retirement? Deputy's explanation
The right to earlier retirement applies not only to large families but also to a number of other categories of citizens.
The right to a pension on preferential terms is enshrined in the Law "On Labor Pensions."
As 1news.az reports, deputy Vugar Bayramov wrote about this on his social media page.
According to him, Article 8 of this Law defines "persons entitled to a labor pension by age on preferential terms due to having children," and Article 9 defines "other persons entitled to a labor pension on preferential terms":
"According to the mentioned Law, women and men who have five or more children or a child with a disability (including adopted children or children taken into guardianship before reaching the age of eight, who have lost their parents or been deprived of parental care), are entitled to a labor pension by age with a reduction of the retirement age by 5 years — provided that the children have reached the age of eight. This means that in large families, mothers, and in cases where men exercise this right, fathers, retire at the age of 60.
The list of citizens acquiring the right to a pension on preferential terms under Article 9 of the Law is quite broad. Thus, regardless of their last place of work, men who have worked for at least 12 years and 6 months, and women who have worked for at least 10 years in jobs provided for by the list of underground work, work with particularly harmful and difficult working conditions, as well as special spheres of art approved by the Cabinet of Ministers that grant the right to a labor pension by age on preferential terms, are entitled to an old-age pension with a reduction of the retirement age by 5 years. In addition, for persons suffering from pituitary dwarfism (dwarfs) and persons with disproportionate dwarfism (midgets), with at least 5 years of insurance experience, the retirement age is reduced by 20 years."
The deputy noted that persons working in positions of the flight and flight-test personnel of civil aviation, with at least 25 years of insurance experience in these jobs (and persons released from flight work for health reasons — at least 20 years), can retire from a labor pension 15 years earlier:
"At the same time, persons working in a number of state sectors, including the prosecutor's office, military personnel, justice bodies and other structures, also have the right to earlier retirement depending on their length of service.
Along with all this, we are also submitting our proposals to grant the right to earlier retirement to an even greater number of citizens. The deepening of pension reforms makes it relevant to use qualitative indicators along with quantitative ones in determining the retirement age.
This could allow a number of our citizens, including single women, to retire earlier."
