Updated 100 manat banknote enters circulation starting today - PHOTO
Starting today, an updated banknote with a denomination of 100 manats is being introduced into circulation.
The new banknote features modern security elements, including a hologram with a three-dimensional micromirror effect that changes color, an innovative Spark Flow Prime element that changes the color of the manat symbol with a dynamic light effect, as well as a watermark in the form of the State Emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the denomination figure, which become visible when the banknote is viewed against the light.
In addition, the banknote has special tactile elements for people with visual impairments. On the right and left edges of the front side, there are embossed lines that allow one to determine the authenticity of the banknote and its denomination by touch.
Among other features of the updated banknote are the vertical design of the reverse side, corresponding to modern global trends in banknote production, a security thread, colorless printing, microtexts, and other security elements.
On the front side of the banknote in the upper left corner is the signature of the Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov.
It is noted that the updated 100 manat banknote will circulate in parallel with the currently circulating banknote of the same denomination, which will retain the status of a means of payment without any restrictions.
