Iranian authorities reported carrying out the death sentence of a man convicted of killing a security forces officer during the mass protests of 2022.

According to the information, Aref Khoshkar opened fire from an air rifle at security forces officers during the riots in Tehran. As a result, Salman Amirahmadi was wounded, who later died in the hospital.

Protests in Iran began in 2022 after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who died after being detained by the morality police for an alleged violation of hijab wearing rules.
