American actress Kaylee Hottle, known for her role as Jia in the films "Godzilla vs. Kong" and "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," died at the age of 18.
As 1news.az reports citing world media, the tragedy occurred on the morning of July 21 in the state of Maryland. The girl was in a car that veered off the road and crashed into a culvert. According to preliminary police data, one of the possible causes of the accident was speeding. The actress was taken to the hospital, but she could not be saved.
Kaylee Hottle was born into a family where several generations of relatives were deaf. She received her first major role at the age of nine, playing Jia, a deaf girl from the Iwi tribe who forms a special bond with Kong and communicates with him using sign language. The actress later returned to this image in the continuation of the MonsterVerse franchise "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire."
In addition to her participation in MonsterVerse films, Kaylee Hottle starred in the series "Magnum P.I.," and in 2024 she was nominated for a Saturn Award in the category "Best Young Actor."
