Finland, following Italy, proposes to exclude Spain from the Schengen zone

Finland's Interior Minister Mari Rantanen has called on all European countries to support Italy's proposal to temporarily exclude Spain from the Schengen zone amid the migration crisis in Ceuta.

She wrote about this on the social network X.

"Spain has completely failed to protect the external border of the Schengen zone from illegal entry. This cannot continue," the head of Finland's Interior Ministry wrote.

Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that the country is ready to take emergency measures to protect its borders and the security of its citizens, including suspending the operation of the Schengen zone with Spain.
