In August, Azerbaijanis will be able to see a meteor shower

The Perseid meteor shower will be observable until August 24. The peak of the meteor shower's activity will occur on August 13 at 06:00 Baku time.

As 1news.az reports, this was announced by the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University (BSU).

"In 2026, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower coincides with the new moon phase. The absence of moonlight will provide a sufficiently dark sky and will hardly interfere with observing the meteors. For this reason, the Perseids of 2026 are considered one of the most favorable opportunities for observation in recent years," the statement notes.
