In Lankaran, a man robbed pensioners who asked him for help
A man who deceived pensioners has been detained in Lankaran.
As the regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service told 1news.az, police officers detained 44-year-old Ruhid Aliyev, who had a previous conviction and stole money from citizens who turned to him for help withdrawing cash from an ATM.
As a result of measures carried out by officers of the Lankaran City-District Police Department, it was established that, under the pretext of helping pensioners who were having difficulty withdrawing cash from an ATM, he took possession of the funds on their cards. During the investigation it emerged that in this way he appropriated money from a total of 7 people.
A criminal case has been opened into these facts, and by a court decision a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen with respect to R. Aliyev.
