Cargo ship attacked off the coast of Oman

The cargo ship was fired upon and caught fire off the coast of Oman.

This was reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations coordination center under the British Navy (UKMTO).

"UKMTO received a report of an incident 18 nautical miles east of Hasab (Oman). According to information from a verified source, the vessel was hit by an unknown projectile, resulting in a fire on board. The fire was extinguished," the coordination center reported. No reports of environmental damage were received, "the vessel and crew are safe," UKMTO added. The type of vessel and its name are not specified.
