Finland refuses to hand over missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine
Finland has refused to hand over missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.
As the country's defense minister, Antti Häkkänen, stated, in remarks quoted by the newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, Helsinki has done everything possible to provide support, but it cannot jeopardize its own constant combat readiness in the field of air defense. The head of the ministry emphasized that such deliveries would run counter to Finland's national interests.
According to Häkkänen, the problem of the shortage of interceptors should be resolved by the United States, which should speed up weapons production and increase missile output.
