Sightseeing helicopter crashes in Rio de Janeiro: four people killed
Four people, including the pilot, were killed in the crash of a sightseeing helicopter in Rio de Janeiro.
According to the fire department, the aircraft, which belonged to a company organizing tourist flights, went down in a hard-to-reach wooded area near the popular Vista Chinesa observation deck. After hitting the ground, a fire broke out at the crash site, which complicated rescuers' access to the wreckage.
As Colombia's Consul General in Brazil, Diana Páez, stated, according to preliminary information, three of those killed were Colombian tourists. The work of forensic experts on identification is complicated by the fact that the bodies of two people were completely burned.
