Moldova recalls its ambassador to Russia for consultations
Moldova is recalling its ambassador to Russia, Lilian Darii, for consultations because of an incident involving the crash of a drone in the south of the republic, the press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
The press service of Moldova's police said on Sunday that debris from a drone had been found in the Ștefan Vodă district. Experts determined that it had exploded after hitting a tree; there were no casualties, but the debris damaged several roofs in the nearby village of Crocmaz.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the incident that occurred in the locality of Crocmaz, Ștefan Vodă district, where an aircraft of the drone-missile type (a hybrid of a kamikaze drone and a cruise missile - ed.) fell and exploded. In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is recalling the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow for consultations," reads the statement published on the Foreign Ministry's website.
