Sources «AnewZ»: Trump inquired about Ilham Aliyev's opinion regarding Iran
According to information received by «AnewZ» from reliable sources, US President Donald Trump, on his own initiative during a telephone conversation that took place on August 8, inquired about the opinion of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the ongoing war with Iran.
In response to the US President's question about the likelihood of Iran's capitulation if the current form of pressure continues, President Ilham Aliyev stated that he considers such a scenario impossible.
Drawing a historical parallel with the eight-year Iran-Iraq war of 1980–1988, the head of state emphasized that although at that time the capitulation of official Tehran was also predicted, the conflict further united the Iranian people.
Ilham Aliyev stated that it is not realistic to consider Iran's capitulation, and the only path lies through peace and constructive negotiations. He added that Azerbaijan is interested in establishing peace and tranquility in the region.
