Network of illegal online casinos with turnover of 10 million manats liquidated in Baku - video

The Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan conducted a special operation against the organizers of illegal online casinos.

The Main Directorate for Combating Cybercrime (MDCC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues operational measures to identify and stop the activities of persons organizing illegal online betting and gambling in the country, reports 1news.az.

As a result of measures carried out by cyber police, brothers Zaur and Fuad Narimanov were detained. It was established that under their leadership, citizens were involved in illegal gambling through the platforms Xbet and MostBet, which are prohibited in the country. To organize illegal online betting and casinos, the perpetrators used the Telegram channel AzeCash they created.

The accused rented an apartment in Baku's Khatai district, where they placed employees, providing them with technical means, bank cards and mobile phones necessary for carrying out illegal activities.

During the continuation of operational-search measures, other members of the group suspected of criminal ties with the Narimanov brothers were also detained - Orkhan Huseynov, Zaur Shirinov and Emin Mammadov.

The investigation established that the group members legalized large sums of money received through the Xbet and MostBet platforms in various ways. According to preliminary data, the total illegal financial turnover from organizing illegal betting and gambling amounted to 10 million manats.

In this regard, a criminal case has been initiated in the Main Directorate under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Zaur and Fuad Narimanov, as well as other persons involved, have been charged. By court decision, a preventive measure in the form of detention and other preventive measures have been chosen against them.

Law enforcement agencies again appeal to citizens not to participate in illegal gambling offered on social networks and Internet platforms under the brands Xbet, MostBet and others.

It should be taken into account that the illegal organization and management of such games, as well as participation in them, entails criminal or administrative liability in accordance with the requirements of the law.
