Araghchi names the reason for U.S. miscalculations in the war with Iran
The failed work of American intelligence services was the reason for the miscalculations made by the United States in the war against Iran.
This was stated by the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Araghchi.
"The U.S. has long misjudged the situation because of intelligence failures. The war with Iran was a striking example of this. Now [the U.S.] has made an even greater miscalculation with regard to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz. The only thing worse than fake news is fake intelligence," he wrote on X.
On August 10, the president of the Islamic Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian, expressed the opinion that Washington had miscalculated in its forecasts regarding the development of the domestic political situation in Iran, since it relied on AI assessments and other non-objective data.
The United States and Israel began the war with Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran, with the mediation of Islamabad, signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, on the night of July 8, the U.S. resumed large-scale strikes on Iran, accusing it of violating the terms of the agreements reached with respect to the Strait of Hormuz.
