"Gazprom Armenia" comes under anti-corruption blow: there are detainees

Armenian law enforcement agencies have arrested four employees of "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC and one official as part of a criminal case on bribery.

This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the republic's Anti-Corruption Committee.

"As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Republic of Armenia, four employees of "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC and one official of the Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety of Armenia have been detained. The proceedings concern cases of giving bribes for providing a positive conclusion while ignoring violations committed during the gas supply process in new buildings," she said.

Arrest was chosen as a measure of restraint for four of the detainees, and house arrest for the fifth.
