Spanish enclave of Ceuta faces yet another influx of migrants - VIDEO
The Spanish enclave of Ceuta has been hit by a new wave of attempts by illegal migrants from Morocco to break through the border.
Law enforcement agencies have mobilized additional forces, deploying helicopters and tear gas to contain the flow of refugees. During the clashes at the border, more than a hundred people were detained, and picks and other tools intended for storming the border fence were seized from them.
According to media reports, the situation was preceded by a mass breakthrough during which tens of thousands of people entered the territory of the enclave, and several dozen migrants died while attempting to cross the border. Due to the overcrowding of accommodation centers, a surge in dangerous infections has been recorded in Ceuta.
