Trump threatens to strike Oman over possible deal with Iran on Hormuz
American leader Donald Trump is threatening to strike Oman because Muscat is preparing to conclude a deal with Tehran on managing shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
This was reported by Associated Press, citing two regional officials.
"Regional officials said the new agreement provides for ships to enter the Persian Gulf along a route controlled by Iran and to exit along a route controlled by Oman," the article says. The U.S. president was displeased with this.
It is specified that the U.S. authorities have already informed Oman that they oppose certain provisions of the agreement, among them the Iranian-Omani management of the route.
