Without the "strategic" label: Armenia approves five-year program of foreign policy and relations with Russia

Armenia's Cabinet has approved the government's five-year program with a new format of relations with Russia.

The draft program of Armenia's government for the next five years emphasizes the need to reorganize and strengthen ties with Russia under the new geopolitical conditions that have taken shape following the establishment of peace in the region.

At the same time, relations with the Russian Federation are described in the text as partnership relations rather than strategic ones.

The corresponding point was discussed on Thursday at a Cabinet meeting.

The document enshrines Yerevan's intention to continue a dialogue aimed at developing and transforming multi-sectoral and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Russian Federation.

"Transformation and deepening of partnership relations with Russia: the dialogue aimed at mutually beneficial multi-sectoral cooperation with the Russian Federation will be continued, in line with a balanced and balancing foreign policy, the transformation, development and deepening of relations under the new conditions of the establishment of peace in the region," the government program states.

At its meeting on August 20, Armenia's Cabinet of Ministers approved the five-year program of its activities.

The Government's program will now be submitted to parliament for approval.
