Every third tourist arriving in Azerbaijan comes from the Turkic world – STATISTICS

In the first seven months of this year, 1 million 342 thousand tourists visited Azerbaijan.

This was reported on his page on the social network Facebook by Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, who also noted the following: "About half of them are citizens of two countries: 28.3% were citizens of Russia, and 20% were citizens of Turkey. One of the notable aspects of inbound tourism has been the change in the number of tourists from Turkic states. Thus, during this period, about 30% of the tourists arriving in Azerbaijan were citizens of Turkic states. In other words, approximately every third tourist comes to our country from the Turkic world."

V. Bayramov says that during this period Azerbaijan was visited by 61,759 tourists from fraternal Kazakhstan and 42,963 from Uzbekistan: "It is expected that after the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, the number of tourists from this fraternal country will continue to grow. The Treaty of Eternal Friendship signed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will have a particularly positive impact on tourism, as well as on other spheres. The further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Turkic states also contributes to the development of cooperation in the field of tourism."

According to the deputy, official statistics show a sharp decline in the number of tourists from the Persian Gulf countries: "The number of arrivals from this region decreased by 32.8%. It is obvious that this decline is largely connected with the regional consequences of the conflict between Iran and Israel. The greatest growth in the number of tourists was recorded among those arriving from the countries of the European Union – by 8%. At the same time, among the CIS countries, from which the number of tourists increased by 1.6%, no significant changes are observed."
