Ukraine has requested billions from the EU for Patriot missiles
The European Commission has received a request from Ukraine for funding worth several billion euros to purchase PAC-3 Patriot air defense missiles.
EU countries are currently considering this request.
This was stated by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to her, the EU is also working with Kyiv on the creation of a joint air defense system called Freya. According to European media reports, it will combine elements of the S-300 system, interceptors created on its basis, as well as European radars and control systems.
Von der Leyen and Rutte also discussed Germany's accusations against Russia in connection with the incident in Leipzig, expressing their support and announcing their intention to impose new sanctions against Russia and to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine.
