Pete Hegseth: The U.S. will sink Iranian tankers if Tehran continues its attacks
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth issued a stern warning to Iran amid escalating tensions in the region.
The head of the Pentagon stated that the United States would destroy and sink Iranian tankers if Tehran continues to attack U.S. Navy ships.
"It's simple: if Iran opens fire on American ships, we will destroy and sink their tankers. The only thing required of them is not to shoot at the U.S. Navy," Hegseth emphasized.
According to him, Iran's tanker fleet is currently in an extremely vulnerable position. The head of the military department added that Iran lacks naval and air forces capable of genuinely standing up to the American military, while the U.S. arsenal includes aircraft, surface ships, and submarines ready to carry out precision strikes.
