Susan Sarandon says she is losing roles in Hollywood over her position on Palestine - VIDEO
American actress Susan Sarandon, winner of the Oscar, BAFTA, and Screen Actors Guild awards, has said that she continues to lose roles because of her public position on the situation in the Middle East.
According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), the 79-year-old actress made the statement at the Venice International Film Festival, where she presented the film The Echo Chamber.
According to S. Sarandon, despite a shift in public attitudes toward what is happening in Gaza, her political position still affects her career.
"Recently, roles have again been taken away from me, because some agencies still tell people not to hire me," the actress states.
Susan Sarandon also said that the situation has changed compared with the beginning of the war in Gaza, when, according to her, many people were afraid to openly express support for the Palestinians.
It is known that in November 2023, United Talent Agency (UTA) ended its cooperation with S. Sarandon after her speech at a pro-Palestinian rally in New York.
