YouTube has blocked 31 channels of Russian artists, propagandists, and individuals under sanctions on the territory of Ukraine.
As reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the majority of the blocked channels are resources of Russian musicians and cultural figures who support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine, perform at propaganda concerts, or are under sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
In particular, the YouTube channels of Philipp Kirkorov, Grigory Leps, Sergey Lazarev, and Valeriya were blocked, as well as those of Larisa Dolina, Irina Allegrova, and the group "Pelageya."
In addition, the restrictions affected the channels of propagandist singers Denis Maydanov and Yulia Chicherina, as well as opera performers Anna Netrebko and Vasily Gerello.
The resources of sanctioned companies were also blocked, in particular "Kaspersky Russia."
The Center for Countering Disinformation states that these resources were used to spread Russian propaganda, glorify war criminals, and support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
