UFC head Dana White speaks out about McGregor's serious injury

Irish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor, in a fight with American Max Holloway at a tournament of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), presumably injured the anterior cruciate ligament of his knee.

As TASS reports, UFC president Dana White announced this at a press conference.

McGregor injured his knee in the first seconds of the fight. Later, the Irishman tried to get up, but each time he landed on the canvas when kicking.

"I expected at least a war in the first round," White said. "Who knew what Conor was capable of after a five-year break? And now we suspect a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. I'm not a doctor, but I immediately thought about it, and later the doctors agreed with my opinion."

McGregor is 37 years old and has 22 wins and 7 losses in mixed martial arts (MMA). He previously held the organization's championship belts in the featherweight and lightweight divisions. In his previous fight against American Dustin Poirier, which took place in July 2021, the Irish athlete broke his leg.
