Almost $500,000 and real estate to be confiscated from former governor in Armenia
About 184 million drams (almost $500,000) and real estate will be confiscated from former Aragatsotn Governor Sargis Sahakyan in favor of the state.
The court granted the prosecutor's office's claim for the confiscation of property of illegal origin.
After the judicial act enters into legal force, 45% of the value of an apartment in Yerevan, a mansion in Ashtarak, as well as 184 million drams (almost $500,000) will be confiscated from the former official.
Sargis Sahakyan held the position of governor of Armenia's Aragatsotn region for almost 7 years: from May 2009 to February 2016.
