Pashinyan pledged to return $2 billion in looted property to the state
By 2031, $2 billion worth of illegal property must be returned to the state.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a government session.
According to him, such expectations are becoming more realistic as the legal mechanisms for confiscating illegal property (funds, real estate) begin to operate fully. For almost 8 years, until the end of 2025, these mechanisms were in the process of being formed, until the corresponding decision of the Constitutional Court and a number of other legal acts were adopted. But now they have begun to operate, and by 2031 the stated result should be ensured, Pashinyan added.
He noted that these goals are also enshrined in the government's program for 2026-2031, which was discussed the day before with the prime minister.
During the election campaign, the prime minister stated that society is tired of the government's promises to "return the looted property" and is beginning to lose confidence in these statements.
