Pashinyan hinted that Armenia was provoked into moving closer to the EU by Lukashenko

The European Union is a significant trade and economic partner of Armenia, but right now the question is not one of comparison, but of creating alternatives for Armenia.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in a conversation with Russian journalists on August 7.

"Some colleagues from the EAEU provoked this process by declaring that no one needs Armenia and that it is not welcome anywhere.

We took this signal not negatively, but positively, and began to work, since in reality the situation is completely different," Pashinyan added.

Note that it was Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko who made the statement about "who needs Armenia."
