Almost 56,000 households left without electricity due to typhoon in Japan
Nearly 56,000 households on the Japanese Amami Islands and in Okinawa Prefecture were left without electricity due to the powerful typhoon "Dolphin."
This is reported by Japan's national public television.
Wind gusts in the typhoon zone over the ocean reach 60 m/s, in Naha, the administrative center of Okinawa, - 30 m/s. "Dolphin" is also accompanied by heavy rains. According to meteorologists' estimates, up to 180 mm of precipitation may fall in Okinawa by the morning of August 9.
Currently, the typhoon is moving at a speed of about 15 km/h toward the coast of China.
