Fires break out at two Russian oil refineries after Ukrainian drone attack
Ukraine attacked the Ilsky Oil Refinery and the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia on the night of August 8, resulting in fires breaking out at both facilities.
As reported by 1news.az, this is reported by RBC-Ukraine, the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai and the governor of Samara Oblast of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Fedorishchev on his Telegram channel.
"Due to the fall of drone debris, a fire broke out at the Ilsky Oil Refinery. According to preliminary information, five people were injured," the regional operational headquarters said in a statement.
The injured are receiving medical assistance. Emergency services are working at the scene.
According to RBC-Ukraine, the Syzran Oil Refinery in Samara Oblast of the Russian Federation was also hit. It is reported that after the attack, a red glow and thick black smoke were observed on the territory of the plant.
Regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed that one of the industrial enterprises in the oblast was attacked by Ukrainian drones that night.
"The elimination of the consequences is currently ongoing. Emergency services are working at the site of the drone crashes. Information about the injured is being clarified," he wrote.
Emergency services continue to eliminate the consequences of the attack. The circumstances and extent of the damage are being clarified.
