Tunnel under construction collapses in Turkey, one dead and one injured
In the Turkish city of Adana, during the construction of a tunnel for the drinking water supply system, a collapse occurred, and one worker died under the rubble.
As reported by 1news.az citing TRT Haber, the incident occurred in the Imamoglu district on a section of the tunnel being built as part of the drinking water supply project. The cause of the collapse has not yet been determined.
At the time of the incident, five employees of the contractor company were in the tunnel. Ambulance crews, gendarmerie, firefighters, and AFAD rescuers arrived at the scene.
A 55-year-old man died, while the other four workers were extracted from the rubble, and one of them sustained injuries.
Administrative and judicial proceedings have been initiated regarding the incident. If violations are identified, the prosecutor's office and other competent authorities will investigate them.
