Magdalena Gron: Leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia open path to lasting and irreversible peace
The European Union welcomes the positive and constructive steps taken by Baku and Yerevan after the Washington summit of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
As 1news.az reports, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Magdalena Gron wrote this on the social network X on the occasion of the first anniversary of the historic Washington Summit held on August 8, 2025.
Today marks the first anniversary of the historic Washington Summit of 🇦🇲, 🇦🇿 and 🇺🇲 leaders on 8 August 2025. "The EU strongly welcomes the series of positive and constructive steps taken since then to further institutionalize and advance the peace process," she noted.
According to Gron, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia have opened the path to a lasting and irreversible peace.
She also emphasized that the EU continues to support both countries and their societies on the path to peace and reconciliation.
