The Netherlands is expected to take part in Eurovision 2027
The Netherlands is expected to take part in Eurovision 2027, which will be held next May in Burgas, Bulgaria.
This was reported by the Dutch outlet NU.nl.
Responsibility for the country's participation will be taken on by the public broadcaster NPO. Who will represent the Netherlands at the contest is not yet known — it is expected that a new mechanism for selecting the performer and the song will be created.
As a reminder, in August another public broadcaster, AVROTROS, announced that it would not take part in Eurovision 2027, citing concerns about the contest's neutrality, and responsibility for the country's participation was transferred to NPO.
The Netherlands also skipped Eurovision 2026. In December 2025, AVROTROS declined to participate, saying that the contest did not align with its fundamental values and citing, in particular, the humanitarian situation in Gaza and issues of press freedom.
