Pashinyan and most ministers to take leave for election campaign
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and most members of the government will take leave during the election campaign period.
Pashinyan announced this during a cabinet meeting, reminding that the campaign period begins the following day.
According to him, the government’s key priority remains conducting parliamentary elections in accordance with international standards, ensuring the free expression of citizens’ will, and preventing bribery or other forms of pressure on voters.
“Our law enforcement agencies have done significant work, but we must not lower our guard,” Pashinyan noted, adding that if the elections were conducted at a proper level in 2021, the current campaign must meet those same standards.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that opposition forces face no obstacles in organizing rallies and meetings with voters, whether in open spaces or indoor venues.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7.
