Named the most popular countries among Azerbaijani tourists in 2026

The State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan has presented statistical data on the number of Azerbaijani citizens who traveled abroad in January-February 2026.

Compared to January-February 2025, the total number of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who traveled abroad increased by 0.8% and amounted to 298.7 thousand people.

Of these, 37.4% went to Turkey (an increase of 2.1% compared to January-February of the previous year), 15.2% to the Russian Federation (a decrease of 2.8%), 12.5% to Iran (an increase of 17.7%), 9.9% to Georgia (a decrease of 12.2%), and 25.0% to other countries (a decrease of 0.1%). Among those who traveled, 66.7% were men, and 33.3% were women.

In January-February 2026, 68.0% of citizens used air transport, 30.4% used rail and road transport, and 1.6% used sea transport.
