In Azerbaijan, 100 manat banknotes are being updated

Starting from July 15, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan is introducing an updated 100 manat banknote into circulation.

This was reported by 1news.az with reference to the CBA.

It is noted that central banks periodically update the design and security features of banknotes to strengthen the fight against counterfeiting, implement modern technologies, and improve user convenience. In line with international experience, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan has initiated the process of updating national banknotes using the latest innovations, nano- and micro-technologies. Since 2021, updated banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 manats have already been released.

As a continuation of this process, the updated 100 manat banknote, dedicated to the theme of 'Economy and Development,' has been introduced. Its design and security system incorporate modern technologies, including a three-dimensional holographic element with color-changing effects, a dynamic light effect 'Spark Flow Prime' with a changing manat symbol, a watermark (depicting the State Emblem and the denomination when held up to light), tactile elements for visually impaired individuals, a vertical design, a security thread, microprinting, and other features.

The new banknote also features the signature of the Chairman of the Central Bank, Taleh Kazimov, located in the upper left corner of the front side.

Currently, the adaptation of all payment systems and equipment in the country to the new banknote has begun.

The updated 100 manat banknote will circulate alongside the existing one and can be used without any restrictions.
